Master alchemy with this Shaman build guide to maximise this Mage subclass in Idleon for skilling and damage output. With the World 2 town skill of alchemy being pivotal to progression having the best Shaman setup possible will serve you throughout your entire Idleon experience with vast damage, efficiency, skilling and utility boosts. While the Shaman doesn’t have the flashy elemental attacks of the Wizard they are still a deadly master of magic that offers useful active abilities for bosses or colosseum challenges.
In this Shaman guide to damage and alchemy builds below I have provided talent templates and detailed information of how to use each talent for maximum effectiveness to cater to all Idleon experience levels. In order to maximise this shaman guide I recommend combining it with our base mage build, guides for all other classes and skills are available on our Idleon builds page.

Shaman Damage Build Guide
The Shaman scales with World 2 alchemy vial progression that means your damage will grow slowly over time as you progress through different Idleon worlds. They are also a highly effective active character in World 2 and beyond for their ability to refresh attack cooldowns and large area of effect focus which grows in potency with further job advancements. Given the important role that alchemy has in your Idleon progression I recommend players also acquire several key alchemy boosting talents on their combat preset to ensure they are always active.
To maximise this potential I recommend the following talents in priority order:
Talent | Effect | Notes |
---|---|---|
![]() | Casts an aura that heals you and damages monsters | The strongest of the Shaman active skills that lays an aura at your feet and repeatedly ticks for damage while healing the Shaman. This is useful for active activities like bossing and colosseum while also boosting your AFK gains as an attack talent. I recommend 50 talent points initially for these purposes before maxing this after players obtain the other priority talents below. |
![]() | Fire a skull which bounces around dealing damage to multiple monsters | A second useful attack talent that summons a skull to bounce between enemies where I also recommend 50 talent points at first before maxing this talent later to boost the number of bounces. |
![]() | Throws potions with different effects | This talent is not automatically cast and must be directly cast by the player with different potion types available that alter the effect between damage, healing and marking enemies. I recommend a single point is invested here to unlock an extra attack talent to use when actively playing Idleon although wouldn’t invest further until all other talents below are maxed. |
![]() | +% Damage dealt for every alchemy vial upgraded to green (level 4) | The primary damage source for the Shaman that encourages players to push their vial levels to level 4 which requires 3,600 cumulative resources. Given this is relatively easy for most vials this is a good initial goal to ensure you maximise your Shaman damage potential. |
![]() | Boosts brew speed by +% for this character | While this is a Shaman damage build the importance of alchemy to overall Idleon account progression means that having this maxed on even your combat build is important. With extra brew speed players can improve the individual coloured cauldrons speed, cost, luck and 2x extra significantly faster (100% at level 100). Once all your coloured cauldrons boosts are at max level (170) this talent is no longer required. |
![]() | All characters in the same cauldron as this one gain +% experience (including the Shaman) | Similar to Busy Brewin’ above the extra experience gain for alchemy is important to your broader Idleon progression even though it doesn’t provide damage to our damage build. Alchemy levels are required to unlock new liquid types (up to level 120) and early alchemy levels provide an easy source of talent points for all characters. After reaching alchemy level 120 on at least one character you can deprioritise this talent on your damage build to move talent points elsewhere. |
![]() | +% Alchemy experience and +% odds of a new bubble when brewing on this character | Similar to Sharing Some Smarts above this is solely about maximising alchemy experience even when in combat given the importance of alchemy. As this talent has the same per level scaling (1% EXP per level) but only applies the experience gain to the Shaman it is a second priority to Sharing Some Smarts as that talent affects more than one character. |
![]() | Killing a monster has a chance to reduce attack cooldowns | This talent significantly grows in power when players advance their Shaman to a Bubonic Conjuror as it boosts the active playstyle that the class specialises in by refreshing cooldowns rapidly when an enemy is killed. |
![]() | + Max talent level for Book of the Wise | Wisdom provides a damage source that can be used after players have obtained the critical alchemy talents above. Any extra talent points beyond this point can be spent on Occult Obols and Fantasia Flasks although the damage impact from them is small. |
Shaman Alchemy Build Guide
This alchemy build for your Shaman should be combined with your Mage chopping preset and will maximise your World 2 alchemy gains. While the alchemy mechanic has several complex systems combined together it is one of the most powerful account boosting skills in Idleon that makes it critical to learn and have a dedicated preset. I recommend that players invest in the following talents for a Shaman alchemy build in priority order:
Talent | Effect | Notes |
---|---|---|
![]() | +% Alchemy experience and +% odds of a new bubble when brewing on this character | The most important alchemy talent to obtain initially as it significantly increases the chances of unlocking a new bubble. Switching to this preset before unlocking new bubbles will dramatically improve your progression. |
![]() | Boosts brew speed by +% for this character | When using your skilling preset to farm logs this ensures players maintain maximum brew speed for their alchemy progress. |
![]() | All characters in the same cauldron as this one gain +% experience (including the Shaman) | Similar to above this ensures maximum alchemy experience is gained when using your Shaman skilling preset. |
![]() | EXP, Lumberbob and Cauldron statues give +% larger bonus | Boosting both chopping and alchemy gains the boost to statues provides a notable boost to both of these key skills. |
![]() | + Max talent level for Book of the Wise | The extra Wisdom available from Book of the Wise through this talent can provide a small boost to chopping output. |
![]() | + Talent points for the Mage talent tab | With a lack of other talents to boost chopping or alchemy in the Shaman talent tab players may want to add points here given the abundance of Mage chopping related talents that require significant talent points to max. |
