Just as expected, billionaires made their mark on the 2024 Met Gala red carpet.

Kim Kardashian arrived in a daring silver gown, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez matched in black-and-white looks, and Tom Ford stayed sharp in a velvet suit.

But while some of the above outfits stunned outside the fundraising event, others could have used some tweaks. Here's a look at the best and worst outfits billionaires wore this year.

Simple outfits worked for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez.

The Amazon founder, who has an estimated $200 billion fortune, skipped the Met Gala red carpet. But he eventually joined his fiancée Lauren Sánchez at the top of the Metropolitan Museum steps and showed off his black tuxedo and bow tie.

Sánchez, on the other hand, had a major fashion moment in her Oscar de la Renta gown.

The strapless dress had a black bodice with a sweetheart neckline and a full skirt decorated with reflective pieces shaped like roses.

The couple looked chic, classy, and ready for a Met Gala dinner.

Kim Kardashian's look was confusing and controversial.

Kardashian, who Forbes estimates is worth $1.7 billion, arrived in a shimmering silver gown custom-made for her by Maison Margiela.

It was strapless with a tight corseted bodice seemingly made from metal and floor-length thanks to its skirt that showed her skin.

But while the dress itself was unique and sculpture-like, Kardashian's tiny gray cardigan was far more simple. It didn't match the outfit's glamorous aesthetic and was distracting when the SKIMS founder kept pulling it across her chest.

Many viewers also took issue with the way Kardashian's corset made her waist look so small, something the TV star has made a habit of doing on Met Gala red carpets.

Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio and Jessica Serfaty Michel understood the night's colorful theme.

Forbes estimates Del Vecchio to be worth $4.7 billion, and he looked like it at the Met Gala.

The Ray-Ban heir walked the carpet in a burnt-orange tuxedo with black lapels and buttons that matched his velvet loafers. Of course, he also wore sunglasses from his family's brand.

He walked the red carpet alongside his fiancée, Serfaty Michel, who sported a flower-embellished cape over a hot-pink gown with cutouts.

She accessorized with elbow-length gloves, a diamond bracelet, and glittering earrings.

They were one of the best-dressed couples on the Met Gala red carpet.

Gustav Magnar Witzøe's outfit looked too much like a costume.

Witzøe, a 31-year-old Norwegian shareholder, is estimated to be worth around $3.9 billion, according to Forbes. So it makes sense that he'd arrive at the 2024 Met Gala in full Versace.

His outfit included a see-through catsuit — which he covered his tattoos to wear — countless crystals in the shape of abs across his torso, and tan fabric wrapped around his hips. He also wore a satin cape, a sparkling hair clip, and tan flats.

The outfit was flashy but looked more like a costume than a high-end design.

The floral accents on Grace Murdoch and Wendi Deng Murdoch's gowns fit the dress code without being over the top.

Wendi, an entrepreneur and Rupert Murdoch's ex-wife, attended the gala with her daughter, Grace, who inherited an estimated $2 billion after the sale of 21st Century Fox to Disney, completed in 2019, Forbes reported. The Murdoch family has a net worth of over $19.5 billion, according to the outlet.

London designer Miss Sohee designed their whimsical gowns.

Grace's peach dress featured short sleeves, semi-sheer detailing on the scooped neckline, and multicolored floral appliqué that cascaded down the dress. Wendi's pale-yellow gown was embroidered with delicate silver flowers that coordinated with her detached, metallic cap sleeves.

Ivy Getty's Conner Ives dress captured the theme but had too much going on.

The silhouette of the peach dress was pretty, and it incorporated the floral theme with appliqué running the length of the dress.

But the gown had several competing textures, from detailing on the neckline to a turkey embellishment on the skirt and faux fur on the hem. Between that and her leopard-print shoes, the outfit just didn't make sense.

The floral detailing on Sudha Reddy's custom Tarun Tahiliani gown wowed on the Met Gala carpet.

Reddy — an entrepreneur and billionaire, according to Vogue India — wore an ethereal white gown to the gala.

Floral embellishments covered the corset bodice and form-fitting skirt, while three-dimensional flowers jutted out from the neckline to frame the coordinating, sheer cape that trailed behind her.

With a statement necklace from Farah Khan World and a Chanel purse, Reddy exuded red-carpet glamour.

Tom Ford also stood out on the red carpet in a velvet jacket, which subtly nodded to the theme.

Ford, who Forbes reports is worth $2.2 billion, didn't wear a suit from his own brand at the 2024 Met Gala.

Instead, he wore a red velvet jacket from Anthony Vaccarello, Saint Laurent's creative director, with black pants and shoes. A white flower on his lapel incorporated the theme, and he wore his signature shades.
